Write for us

Rising Story House welcomes thoughtful pitches about how stories work. We are interested in specific craft questions, sharp comparisons and useful close readings that give readers more than a list of rules.

What to pitch

Propose a distinct subject within character, scenes, structure, voice or revision. A strong pitch states its central question, the approach you would take, the reader it serves and why the subject deserves attention. Show how your piece will explain trade-offs rather than sell a universal formula.

What makes a good submission

Write with precision, support factual claims and make clear when a point is your interpretation. Avoid sweeping claims about what every reader or writer wants. If you discuss a published work, keep the analysis focused and use only material necessary to make your point.

Send a proposal

Send pitches and proposed contributions through the Contact page, selecting the editorial option and including a concise outline. Please do not send confidential material or assume a proposal has been accepted until you receive a reply.
